The Grove Eltham

CDC was commissioned by CJ O’Shea Limited to offer Fire Life Safety services to this residential development located in Eltham, Greenwich.

The proposed development comprises a two block, five storey residential building, with  underground parking facilities. The development is located in Eltham High Street and comprises a number of one, two and three bedroom properties.

CDC was commissioned to support the Contractor, CJ O’Shea Limited, to offer Fire Safety services to the development. Supporting our Client, CDC was able to instigate a number of costs saving measures, while still complying the required fire safety codes.

The Fire Safety Strategy was developed in accordance Building Regulation requirements, with fire engineering solutions developed ensure the smoke extract systems were able to operate efficiently.

CDC worked closely with CJ O’Shea Limited assess the compartmentation, smoke extract, fire service access provision, escape routes and fire alarms. CDC was able to design an effective and efficient smoke extract system for the development, which allowed cost savings to the design. Fire Safety Strategy report wad issued for Building control approvals.

CFD modelling was undertaken to several areas, to substantiate fire engineering solutions, that allowed the building to be more efficient. CFD modelling was undertaken for basement car park area and upper floor circulation spaces.

CDC ensured that the design was able to comply with all required Building Regulations and the design was supported by Building Control approvers.

Baltimore Wharf

Client: cj o'shea limited

contract dates: march 2016 – january 2017

CDC was commissioned by CJ O’Shea Limited to offer Computation Fluid Dynamics services to this high rise residential development  located in the heart of Greenwich in London.

The tower has been developed with Galliard Homes and comprises a 45 story residential tower with restaurant and bar areas on the upper two floors. The building sits upon a large 2 story podium and basement car parking.

CDC was commissioned to support the Contractor, CJ O’Shea Limited, to offer Fire Engineering CFD modelling services to the development. This work related modelling of the large scale basement car parking floors, which were formed as part of an extension to the existing car park area.

The basement car park area, implemented a large scale car stacking system in addition to traditional car parking areas.

The CFD modelling was successfully able to demonstrate that a reduction in the number of fans would still achieve the requirements for smoke extraction within the development

The CFD modelling was reviewed and approved by both Building Control and Fire  Services organisations as part of the approval process.

West Village, notting hill, london

Client: cj o'shea limited

CDC was commissioned by CJ O’Shea Limited to offer Fire Life Safety services to this luxury residential development located in Notting Hill, London.

The proposed development comprises a total of ten residential properties and a car stacking system. The residential properties are two and three storey properties all located within a  constrained development site.

CDC was commissioned to support the Contractor, CJ O’Shea Limited, to offer Fire Safety services to the development. Supporting our Client, CDC was able to instigate a number of costs saving measures, while still complying the required fire safety codes.

The Fire Safety Strategy was developed in accordance Building Regulation requirements.

CDC worked closely with CJ O’Shea Limited to maximise the use of the land and receive approvals from Building Control Authorities and Fire Services. Due to the constrained  nature of the site, alternative means to Fire Access were needed to ensure that all properties could be reached by the Fire Services. This design input was undertaken in coordination with the local Fire Authority.

CDC ensured that the design was able to comply with all required Building Regulations and the design was supported by Building Control approvers.

Orchard Wharf

CDC was commissioned by CJ O’Shea Limited to provide Fire Engineering services to Orchard Wharf, which is a large scale residential led, mixed use development, located in E14 London.

The proposed development comprises a number of stepped towers extending to the highest element at 23 stories, with a total of 3,600m2 of mixed use accommodation. The development also incorporates a large scale basement car parking area.

CDC was commissioned to support the Contractor, CJ O’Shea Limited, on behalf of Galliard Homes to offer Fire Engineering services to the development. Supporting our Client, CDC provided full fire engineering design services to ensure that the development is able to comply with the functional requirements of Building Regulations. Fire Engineering solutions have been proposed where the requirements are not able to be met by Building Regulations.

CDC worked closely with CJ O’Shea Limited to assess the compartmentation, smoke extract, fire service access provision, escape routes and fire alarms. CDC was able to design an effective and efficient smoke extract system for the development, which will allow cost savings to the design.

Manhattan Loft Gardens, Stratford

Client: Bouygues UK

contract dates: August 2017 to November 2018

Cahill Design Consultants was contracted by Bouygues UK, to provide acoustic support to the Manhattan Loft Gardens hotel and residential project located at Stratford, London.

Cahill Design Consultants was contracted to undertake sound insulation testing to the development and provide acoustic design advice to support Bouygues UK in achieving Building Regulations compliance and achieve the targeted BREEAM credits.

Manhattan Loft Gardens is a 41 storey SOM designed high rise hotel and residential tower located in central Stratford adjacent to Stratford International Rail Station.

Cahill Design Consultants worked with the Bouygues UK site team to provide significant sound insulation testing to the development, including remedial advice.

The completed development was able to comply with the requirements of Building Regulations and achieved the targeted BREEAM credits for acoustics.

Hope Gardens, Acton, London

Client: QED Sustainable Urban Development

contract dates: July 2016 to August 2017

Cahill Design Consultants was contracted by QED Sustainable Urban Development to Acoustic Design and testing services to their modular residential building projects project, located in Ealing and Acton, London.

The developments were constructed completely from modular shipping containers but were required to comply with the requirements of approved Document E of the Building regulations and the noise related planning conditions.

CDC provide advice to the Client relating to walls and floor constructions that would achieve the requirements of Building Regulations. The advice was unique to each development depending on the nature of the modular stacking and elements between the units.

CDC undertook sound insulation testing on completion of the projects and the results demonstrated compliance with the requirements of building regulations.

The Stage, Shoreditch, London

Cahill Design Consultants was commissioned by CJ O’Shea Limited to provide Fire Engineering services to The Stage development located in central Shoreditch, London. Phase 1 of The Stage comprises three towers and a large shared basement area. Central to the development is a historic original Shakespeare Theatre, which will be renovated to attract visitors.

Supporting our  Client, CDC provided full fire engineering design services to ensure that the development is able to comply with the functional requirements of Building Regulations. Fire Engineering solutions have been proposed where the requirements are not able to be met by Building Regulations.
