Cahill Design Consultants was contracted by Collins Construction to provide specialist acoustic advisory services to their large scale healthcare development, located in central London. The healthcare development was on behalf of Collins Client, Healthcare America and comprised the redevelopment of facilities across four floors of one of London’s most prestigious buildings, The Shard.
The development included a number of treatment rooms. physiotherapy gym areas, consultancy rooms and radio therapy areas. The development incorporated a number of vibration sensitive pieces of equipment.
CDC provided Acoustic consultancy services to the project including sound insulation advice, vibration advice, control of mechanical services noise and vibration, reverberation control and recommendations for compliant constructions. The Clients aspiration for the project was to develop a world class healthcare facility in the heart of London. The acoustic designs supported these aspirations.
CDC worked closely with the wider design team, including architects, MEP, Structures and others, to ensure that the acoustic design was appropriate to the wider design aspirations for the project.
