Dundonald Church is a mixed use, place of worship and residential community project, located on Kingston Road, Raynes Park.
Demolition of the existing building on the site was undertaken to allow a new build 5 storey development to be created.
The building incorporates a double height church / auditorium space at ground floor, in addition to a creche, recording studio, and café. First floor will incorporate a ‘youth hall’ and office spaces. The development incorporates three floors of residential accommodation, alongside new car parking, cycle storage and landscaping to Kingston Road.
The CDC team provided Fire Engineering & Acoustic Consultancy support to the project throughout RIBA stages 2 and 3. CDC was additionally commissioned by Adoni Developments to offer our specialist Acoustic consultancy services to RIBA Stages 4 & 5, supporting the Client, to completion of the project in 2021.
Specialist advice on evacuation strategy, ventilation strategies, fire services access and minimum protection requirements for this development was provided.
Projects like Dundonald Church are always a pleasure to work on, with conflicting uses and complex layouts.
The project was awarded the The Peter Lord Award for outstanding acoustic design and implementation from the Institute of Acoustics in 2023.
