CURTAIN HOTEL, SHOREDITCH, LONDON

Client: BOUYGUES UK

contract dates: jANUARY 2018 – present

CDC was commissioned by Bouygues UK to offer acoustic design, support planning  to this large boutique luxury hotel development located in Shoreditch London

The five storey building incorporates guestrooms, food and beverage areas, fitness suite, swimming pool, guest services areas, conference facilities, in addition to the usual back of house spaces.

CDC was commissioned to support the project including extensive surveys, assessments and design recommendations in addition to commissioning tests.

CDC worked closely with the wider design team including architects, building services engineers, and Bouygues UK, to ensure that the acoustic design requirements were effectively incorporated into the design proposals.

Our extensive work allowed the hotel to control noise and vibration emissions both within and external to the building and achieve the requirement of the Planning Authority.

Doubletree hilton, kingston upon Hull

Client: McL projects / lexington leisure

contract dates: july 2015 – present

CDC was commissioned by McL Projects Limited to offer full acoustic design, planning and commissioning services to this 260 key hotel development located in the centre of Kingston Upon Hull.

The proposed development is operated by Doubletree by Hilton Hotels. The five storey building incorporates guestrooms, food and beverage areas, fitness suite, guest services areas, conference facilities, in addition to the usual back of house spaces.

CDC was commissioned to support the project from RIBA stages 2-7 which incorporating  planning, concept, preliminary and detailed design stages, in addition to construction  supervision and commissioning tests.

The acoustic design was developed in accordance with Doubletree Brand Standard  requirements in addition to Building Regulation requirements.

CDC worked closely with the wider design team including architects, building services engineers, structural engineers, fire engineering and project managers to ensure that the acoustic design requirements were effectively incorporated into the design proposals. This included internal sound  insulation, acoustic design of external fabric, building services noise control, reverberation control and structural acoustic assessments.

Extensive calculations were undertaken for the conference centre to ensure that appropriate acoustic conditions were achieved in accordance with the Doubletree Brand Standard.

IHG hotel development, dubai, uae

Client: Khatib & Alami / Vandis Hotels & Development

contract dates: september 2016 – present

CDC was commissioned by Khatib & Alami Dubai, on behalf of their Client Vandis Hotels & Developments, to offer full acoustic design, planning and commissioning services to this 29 floor, hotel and residential development located in Dubai, UAE.

The proposed development is operated by IHG Hotels and incorporates substantial residential accommodation in addition the a Holiday Inn hotel. The 29 floor tower incorporates, guest rooms, food and beverage areas, fitness suite, guest services areas, a large atrium,  residential accommodation, in addition to the usual back of house spaces.

CDC was commissioned to support the project from Concept Design to Detailed Design and Construction Stages.

The acoustic design was developed in accordance with IHG Brand Standard requirements in addition to local environmental and building regulation requirements.

CDC worked closely with the wider design team including architects, building services engineers, structural engineers, fire  engineering and project managers to ensure that the acoustic design requirements were effectively incorporated into the design proposals. This included internal sound  insulation, acoustic design of external fabric, building services noise control, reverberation     control and structural acoustic assessments.

The development is located adjacent to a main arterial road and so exposed to high levels of noise on its main facades. A detailed survey and careful acoustic specification of facade elements, ensured that internal noise levels would achieve the strict IHG Brand Standards.

IHG Hotels Development, West Drayton, London

Client: Mendick Waring Limited

contract dates: august 2015 – present

CDC was commissioned by Mendick Waring Limited to offer full Fire Life Safety services to this 650 key hotel development located at Heathrow, London.

The proposed development is operated by IHG Hotels and incorporates two hotels under one roof, those being a Holiday Inn and a Staybridge Hotel. The six story building incorporates, guestrooms, food and beverage areas, fitness suite, guest services areas, a large atrium, in addition to the usual back of house spaces.

CDC was commissioned to support the project from with Fire Engineering services to RIBA stages
2 – 7 which incorporating planning, concept, preliminary and detailed design stages, in addition to construction supervision.

The Fire Safety Strategy was developed in accordance with IHG Brand Standard requirements in addition to Building Regulation requirements.

CDC worked closely with the wider design team including architects, building services engineers, structural engineers, acoustic engineers and project managers to ensure that the Fire Engineering requirements were effectively incorporated into the design proposals. This included compartmentation, escape routes, fire services access, smoke extract strategy and coordination with Building Control and Fire Services.

The design was supported with CFD (computational fluid dynamic) modelling to understand the behaviour of a potential fire within the large space atrium. This resulted in fire engineered solutions being developed to protect the internal atrium facades. The  proposed solutions saved the project a considerable amount of money and was ac-cepted by Building Control and Fire Authorities.
