Cahill Design Consultants (CDC) was commissioned by Meinhardt Limited, on behalf of their client to provide acoustic design consultancy advice for a proposed hotel development, located in South Bank, London.
The existing development on the site was demolished and is due to be replaced with the new build hotel, which incorporates offices, retail spaces, leisure facilities as well as guess rooms.
CDC provided specific advice for the Acoustic design. Recommendations for maximum noise levels from building services were offered within the next design stage after a night-time noise assessment was conducted. CDC proposed maximum noise levels to amenity spaces for this development.
An assessment was undertaken in order to determine the minimum sound insulation performance of the glazed and non-glazed elements of the facade in order to ensure that the required internal ambient noise levels were achieved.
The development was able to successfully achieve Planning Permission.
